The case study of the icon of Saint Nicholas of Myra explores historical, iconographic, technical, and conservation aspects. The thesis stems from the desire to combine art-historical knowledge with restoration expertise, highlighting how the icon represents a synthesis of faith, art, and matter.

La tesi "Fare un'icona: materiali, tecniche, conservazione" indaga il significato spirituale e la dimensione materiale dell'icona bizantina. Dopo aver approfondito l'origine e la funzione dell'immagine sacra, con particolare attenzione al periodo dell'iconoclastia, la tesi approfondisce le fasi di realizzazione tradizionale, dalla preparazione della tavola alla pittura a tempera all'uovo. Il caso studio dedicato all'icona di San Nicola di Myra approfondisce aspetti storici, iconografici, tecnici e conservativi. L'elaborato nasce dal desiderio di unire conoscenze storico-artistiche e competenze di restauro, mettendo in luce come l'icona rappresenti una sintesi tra fede, arte e materia.
