This degree thesis analyzes Shirin Neshat's Women of Allah series placing the female body as a space of identity and belonging at its center. Through writing, the veil and photography, the body emerges not as a passive object of representation, but as an active place of symbolic and cultural construction. The paper shows how the body becomes a space for meeting and discussion, in which tensions and suspended identities between East and West are reflected.
