This thesis investigates yarn bombing, a recent phenomenon that blends art and craftsmanship, born from the passion of a few knitters and crocheters, which has spread globally, thanks to the novelty of their creations and the use of the internet. In particular, it will focus on its origins and development, making reference to the artist Magda Sayeg, who is considered "the godmother" of yarn bombing. Finally, it will focus on: its comparison with graffiti and street art; the use of "feminine" domestic practices outside the home, thus as a form of Craftivism; and the ability to redevelop and reclaim urban space through their works.
