Vietato sporgersi dentro: la recitazione tesa e libera di Monica Vitti

The thesis will focus on the acting of the actress Monica Vitti, starting from a general overview of her personal acting method (also influenced by her experience, as well as by a series of meetings which will be explored in depth later), also making a comparison between cinema and theatre. Subsequently, a series of materials divided according to genre will be taken into consideration: a chapter will be dedicated to the acting linked to the figure of Michelangelo Antonioni ("The Adventure"/"The Night"/"The Eclipse"/"The Red Desert"), with hints at the influence of Ingrid Bergman and the goddesses of the Italian silent era; another will be dedicated to brilliant comic acting and therefore linked to the experience of Italian comedy mainly between the 70s and 80s, with a focus on the role of women and the relationship with the family.

La tesi verterà sulla recitazione dell’attrice Monica Vitti, partendo da una panoramica generale sul suo personale metodo di recitazione (influenzato anche dal vissuto, oltre che da una serie di incontri che saranno approfonditi in seguito), facendo anche un confronto tra cinema e teatro. In seguito, saranno presi in considerazione una serie di materiali suddivisi secondo genere: un capitolo sarà dedicato alla recitazione legata alla figura di Michelangelo Antonioni (“L’avventura”/“La notte”/“L’eclisse”/“Il deserto rosso”), con accenni all’influenza di Ingrid Bergman e delle divine del muto italiano; un altro sarà dedicato alla recitazione comico-brillante e quindi legata all’esperienza della commedia all’italiana prevalentemente tra gli anni ‘70-’80, con focus sul ruolo della donna e il rapporto con la famiglia.
