Neologisms are an essential aspect of the development of a language-culture, continuously renewed sometimes in an original way. This thesis explores what is called "franglais" in the field of fashion, which is the immoderate, even abusive use of Anglicisms in the press discourse. The first chapter clarifies the difference between necessary borrowings and luxury borrowings by describing the historical and cultural context that has influenced their success. Furthermore, we illustrate the distinction between full borrowing, partial borrowing, and modified borrowing with some examples. The second chapter concerns the study of a digital press corpus (60 Anglicisms) : various articles were selected from two well-known fashion magazines, namely Vogue and Elle, with the aim of examining the reason for the use of Anglicisms in their context. Finally, the third chapter is dedicated to the analysis of their effective lexicalization in lexicographic/terminographic works of the general language and the specialized language of fashion
Les néologismes sont un aspect essentiel du développement d’une langue-culture, rénovée continuellement de manière parfois originale. Le présent mémoire explore ce qu’on appelle le « franglais » dans le domaine de la mode, c’est-à-dire l’emploi immodéré, voire abusif des anglicismes dans le discours de presse. Le premier chapitre clarifie la différence entre les emprunts de nécessité et les emprunts de luxe, en décrivant le contexte historique et culturel qui a influencé leur succès. De plus, nous illustrons la distinction entre emprunt intégral, emprunt partiel et emprunt remanié à l’aide de quelques exemples. Le deuxième chapitre concerne l’étude d’un corpus de presse numérique (60 anglicismes): nous avons sélectionné divers articles de deux magazines de mode bien connus, à savoir Vogue et Elle, dans le but d’examiner la raison de l’emploi des anglicismes dans leur contexte. Enfin, le troisième chapitre est consacré à l’analyse de leur lexicalisation effective dans des ouvrages lexicographiques/terminographiques de la langue générale et de la langue spécialisée de la mode.
