This thesis originates from the internship experience carried out at the Steelco S.p.A. plant in Riese Pio X (Treviso), a company recognized today as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of washing and sterilization systems for the medical, pharmaceutical, and research laboratory sectors. The company stands out for the development of advanced technological solutions, characterized by high efficiency, reliability, automation, and sustainability, with the aim of ensuring the highest safety standards, optimizing processes, and reducing operating costs. The thesis project, developed within the purchasing department, focused on analyzing and optimizing supplier information recorded in the company information system. The activity aimed to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency, laying the foundation for more efficient and reliable management. This process was also developed to support the future transition to the new management system, thus ensuring a structured database aligned with organizational needs. Before presenting the activities carried out, a review of the literature related to purchasing and supplier management will be provided. The results obtained from these activities demonstrate how a structured methodological approach and the use of data analysis and monitoring tools can not only enhance qualitative performance in the purchasing area but also generate cross-functional benefits for the entire organization. A complete, consistent, and reliable database represents a fundamental prerequisite for the proper functioning of numerous business processes, fostering information accuracy, operational continuity, and the overall improvement of efficiency and management quality.
