Riorganizzazione dei materiali del magazzino e implementazione dell'area "pick&pack". Il caso Fami s.r.l

The following thesis work is based on the training internship experience at the based company Fami S.r.l, a leader in the production and sale of industrial furniture and workshop furniture in Italy and in the world. There are two objectives of the project that has been developed. The first is to map all the company's products, in view of the new catalog in force from September 2021, then assign a location to the new items that will be marketed from that date and change the position of those already present, in order to increase the efficiency of your warehouse. The new mapping was carried out considering factors related to both the items and the warehouse and led to a reduction in pick-up times. The second objective, on the other hand, is focused on shipments and consists in reviewing the process of "picking and packing". You want to separate these two phases of logistics that, currently, in the company are carried out by the same operator, both as regards the part of Italian shipments and for that of foreign shipments. For this purpose, an area called "pick& pack" area by the company itself is implemented. Although it is called in this way, it is an area intended only for the preparation and packaging of packages and is located near the loading doors. The company has chosen to experiment with the area with a specific product characterized by a simple geometry, namely the wardrobe. Therefore, the picking and packaging activities carried out by two separate operators, involves the standardization of the packaging process and the specialization of the work, thus reducing the time of order fulfillment. The area has not yet been realized, but it will determine in the future the achievement of an effective and efficient process, which speeds up the company's internal activities, with the aim of reducing waste and improving customer service.

Il seguente lavoro di tesi si basa sull’esperienza di tirocinio formativo presso l’azienda vicentina Fami S.r.l, leader nella produzione e vendita di arredamenti industriali e arredi d’officina in Italia e nel mondo. Due sono gli obbiettivi del progetto che è stato sviluppato. Il primo consiste nell’effettuare una mappatura di tutti i prodotti dell’azienda, in vista del nuovo catalogo in vigore da settembre 2021, quindi assegnare un’ubicazione ai nuovi articoli che verranno commercializzati a partire da quella data e modificare la posizione di quelli già presenti, al fine di aumentare l’efficienza del proprio magazzino. La nuova mappatura è stata effettuata considerando fattori relativi sia agli articoli che al magazzino e ha condotto ad una riduzione dei tempi di prelievo. Il secondo obbiettivo, invece, è incentrato in ambito spedizioni e consiste nel revisionare il processo di “picking and packing” (letteralmente prelievo e imballo). In particolare, si vuole separare queste due fasi della logistica che, attualmente, in azienda sono svolte dallo stesso operatore, sia per quanto riguarda la parte delle spedizioni Italia sia per quella delle spedizioni estere. A tal scopo viene implementata un’area denominata dall’azienda stessa area “pick&pack”. Sebbene si chiami in questo modo, è una zona destinata alla sola preparazione e imballo dei colli ed è collocata vicino le porte di carico. L’azienda ha scelto di voler sperimentare l’area con un prodotto specifico caratterizzato da una geometria semplice, ovvero l’armadio. Dunque, le attività di prelievo e di imballo svolte da due operatori distinti, comporta la standardizzazione del processo di imballaggio e la specializzazione del lavoro, riducendo così il tempo di evasione dell’ordine. Ad oggi l’area non è ancora stata realizzata, però andrà a determinare in futuro l’ottenimento di un processo efficace ed efficiente, che velocizzi le attività interne all’azienda, con lo scopo di ridurre gli sprechi e migliorare il servizio al cliente.
