The present thesis will focus on the influence of EEE in the acquisition process of competences regarding English as a second language. EE has drawn the attention of researchers and linguistics as it has been shown to represent an important instrument for promoting both language acquisition and cultural competence. The first chapter of the dissertation will present the theoretical framework of the study, mainly focusing on general notions connected to EEE and cultural competence in L2 acquisition. The second chapter will focus on the presentation of the questionnaire’s data and the methodology of analyses. Finally, in the third chapter, the results of the questionnaire will be discussed, in relation to the existing literature. The study concludes by aiming to raise awareness about the importance of EE in relation to L2 competence acquisition, emphasising also the need for further research on the topic.
