The aim of this study is to explore intercultural practices and analyse how individuals interact with an ethnically diverse environment based on various criteria, including language and origin. In particular, Erasmus students who have spent at least six months in Malaga will be interviewed in order to understand whether and how they have developed a global sense of belonging through linguistic and cultural interactions. Initially, the study focuses on a more theoretical and conceptual level, following a timeline: from the definitions of space, place, and non-place articulated by various humanistic geographers, to the so-called global sense of place, which developed with the advent of globalisation and mobility. Moving forward, it investigates Erasmus as an intercultural experience and its role in developing a more global sense of identity among students who have joined the initiative, focusing particularly on the function of language in the perception of belonging to a place. Finally, the study concludes with an empirical research based on interviews. Through the voices of Erasmus students, the thesis seeks to reflect on a social phenomenon that is becoming increasingly prevalent nowadays: the redefinition of identity and belonging in a context of global mobility.

Abstract
Through the voices of Erasmus students, the thesis seeks to reflect on a social phenomenon that is becoming increasingly prevalent nowadays: the redefinition of identity and belonging in a context of global mobility.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
