The SPES (Selective Production of Exotic Species) project proposes the construction of an ISOL-type facility at the National Laboratories di Legnaro of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics: the goal is the production of radionuclides, from the interaction of a proton beam with particular targets, with high intensity and selectivity by activity research in various fields. Due to their life cycle, the targets have to be handled in different stations, hence the need for design and integrate suitable automatic handling systems. This thesis work aims at the concept design of an auxiliary transport system for the Target Ion Source (TIS) unit in the end of their life cycle, i.e. when they have to be conducted up to to the Hot Cell to be disassembled and disposed of. In particular, the design of the system and the validation of some components through finite element analysis will be shown. Finally, a communication network between safety PLCs will be realized, to emulate the communication between the central system and the designed vehicle.

Abstract
Finally, a communication network between safety PLCs will be realized, to emulate the communication between the central system and the designed vehicle.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
