Representation, cataloguing and management of buildings' decay inside a BIM (Building Information Modelling) and IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) environment still represents a not completely achieved goal. Reasons are to research in a multiplicity of factors, among which relative technological immaturity of model authoring software, the absence of regulations and good, consolidated practices, the poor awareness and direct demand of a targeted update of products and available processes from contracting authorities and operators in the sector. In this thesis we set ourselves the goal to provide a possible solution to this problem, investigating both the complex geometrical aspects and the informative ones, building a digital representation and cataloguing process that integrates VPL (Visual Programming Language) tools inside an openBIM environment for the mapping of the decay of Palazzo Camerini Bembo, Padua (PD). The given process is articulated in a series of phases which start with the building of the BIM model starting from a point cloud which, exported in IFC format, will be object of the projection of decay, which have been already digitalized in a CAD software by specialized operators, and of the association of the correct class and naming in agreement with current regulations. The result is a standardised and open IFC file, easily sharable and usable without any needing for changes in the file structure, which could compromise its information. This procedure, as will be shown, can be applied in other case studies too and could become a useful tool for acceleration and standardisation of a process which is, as it is now, improvable.

Abstract
This procedure, as will be shown, can be applied in other case studies too and could become a useful tool for acceleration and standardisation of a process which is, as it is now, improvable.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
