This work shows how extended reality (XR) technologies are already creating value for companies, beyond expectations about the Metaverse, through concrete applications. It starts from the case of TechStar, an Italian company that, with its proprietary platform Meta Presence, supports business processes with VR/AR, including staff training and field assistance. In immersive training, the replication of real scenarios makes it possible to reduce CAPEX and accidents, improve sustainability, and enhance learning ability. In field assistance, AR with Head-Mounted Display, sharing of the visual field with remote specialists, digital twins, and AI agents integrated into databases accelerate interventions and increase efficiency. These benefits also involve an increase in risks, which makes it necessary to follow specific guidelines and carry out periodic checks; at the same time, the protection of personal data is another fundamental issue to be regulated.

Abstract
These benefits also involve an increase in risks, which makes it necessary to follow specific guidelines and carry out periodic checks; at the same time, the protection of personal data is another fundamental issue to be regulated.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
