This thesis research has deepened some aspects of the tradition of "filò", the evening meeting in Northern Italy documented from the end of the fourteenth century to the second half of the twentieth century, focusing particularly on the transmission of knowledge through orality and singing. The drafting of the paper was based both on a bibliographic survey of various sources, such as monographs and dedicated websites, and on a field research, which led to interviews with direct witnesses in the last years in which "filò" was active.
