Cuerpos que no cesan de faltar: duelo, desobediencia ética y comunidad espectral en Antígona Furiosa de Griselda Gambaro y Antígona González de Sara Uribe.

This thesis proposes a comparative and contextualized reading of contemporary rewritings of the myth of Antigone in contemporary Latin American literature, understood as devices of resistance against state violence and institutional policies of forgetting. The literary corpus focuses on Antígona Furiosa (1988) by Griselda Gambaro, analyzing its dramatization of terror during the Argentine dictatorship, and Antígona González (2012) by Sara Uribe, a work that addresses Mexico’s War on Drugs through a poetics of absence. The research argues that both adaptations rewrite the conflict of the Greek myth in order to inscribe it within historical contexts marked by state violence, forced disappearance, and the suspension of mourning. The specific objectives of the study are, first, to investigate how these works reconfigure the tragic narrative of Antigone by shifting it from its classical configuration as an individual heroine toward a collective figure of enunciation whose voice condenses the demands of the families of the disappeared. Second, the study analyzes the literary and performative strategies that enable the construction of an archive of memory capable of resisting hegemonic discourses of forgetting. Finally, the research seeks to deepen the relationship between corporeality and spectrality, examining how the identity of the disappeared and their relatives is configured as inscribed within a suspended temporality characteristic of unfinished mourning.

La presente tesis propone una lectura comparada y contextualizada de las reescrituras contemporáneas del mito de Antígona en la literatura latinoamericana contemporánea entendidas como dispositivos de resistencia contra la violencia estatal y las políticas institucionales del olvido. El corpus literario se enfoca en Antígona Furiosa (1988) de Griselda Gambaro analizando su dramatización del terror durante la dictadura argentina y Antigona Gonzalez (2012) de Sara Uribe, obra que trata la Guerra contra el narcotráfico en México a través de la poética de la ausencia. La investigación plantea que ambas adaptaciones reescriben el conflicto del mito griego para inscribirlo en contextos históricos marcados por la violencia estatal, la desaparición forzada y la suspensión del duelo. Los objetivos específicos del estudio son, en primer lugar, investigar cómo las obras reconfiguran la narración trágica de Antígona al desplazarla de su configuración clásica de heroína individual hacia una figura colectiva de enunciación cuya voz condensa las demandas de los familiares de los desaparecidos. En segundo lugar, analizar las estrategias literarias y performativas que permiten la construcción de un archivo de la memoria que resista a los discursos hegemónicos del olvido. Finalmente, la investigación propone profundizar la relación entre corporalidad y espectralidad, examinando de qué manera la identidad de los desaparecidos y sus familiares se configura inscrita en una temporalidad suspendida propia del duelo inconcluso.
