The notion of realism, both in the past and in contemporary times, has been much debated among critics because it represents an ambiguous and complex concept. The aim of this study is to determine, through a research investigation of Bohumil Hrabal's texts combined with a sociopolitical analysis of Czechoslovakia in the years ‘50, the birth of a realism circumscribed to this context: total realism. The analysis of some specific texts also aims to demonstrate how the author concretizes the stylistic and content techniques that reflect the precepts of this current.

Abstract
The notion of realism, both in the past and in contemporary times, has been much debated among critics because it represents an ambiguous and complex concept. The aim of this study is to determine, through a research investigation of Bohumil Hrabal's texts combined with a sociopolitical analysis of Czechoslovakia in the years ‘50, the birth of a realism circumscribed to this context: total realism. The analysis of some specific texts also aims to demonstrate how the author concretizes the stylistic and content techniques that reflect the precepts of this current.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
