Uno specchio nelle opere di Giuseppe Caputo: Un mundo huérfano ed Estrella Madre

This research analyzes two novels by the Colombian writer Giuseppe Caputo: Un mundo huérfano and Estrella Madre. Defined by the author himself as a diptych, I chose to explore these works further by conducting an interview with Caputo during my university exchange. This opportunity allowed me to identify a "mirror dynamic" between the two novels, where many elements function in opposition to one another. Consequently, I have developed an analysis based on the various narrative components of the texts. The "child creature", the traditional family, and the alternative family are pivotal subjects through which I chose to examine this mirroring effect. Furthermore, considering their nature as Latin American queer novels, I analyzed these two themes as they are essential to understanding the context and contemporary relevance of Caputo's work. My sources include the already mentioned interview, the two novels, materials recommended by my supervisor, and other public interventions by the author.

La ricerca analizza due romanzi dello scrittore colombiano Giuseppe Caputo: Un mundo huerfano ed Estrella Madre. Definite come un dittico dall’autore stesso, ho deciso di approfondire e svolgere un’intervista a Caputo durante la mia mobilità universitaria. Grazie a ciò, sono riuscito ad intravedere una dinamica a specchio tra le due opere, in cui molti elementi sono opposti tra loro. Ho realizzato quindi un’analisi che si basa sui vari componenti narrativi dei romanzi. La creatura figlia, la famiglia tradizionale e la famiglia alternativa sono argomenti cardine, su cui ho deciso di esaminare questa caratteristica dello specchio. Inoltre, considerando la loro natura di romanzi queer latinoamericani, ho svolto un’analisi su questi due temi poichè essenziale per capire il contesto e la rilevanza contemporanea dei lavori di Caputo. Come fonti, ho utilizzato la già citata intervista, i due romanzi, del materiale consigliatomi dal relatore ed altri interventi dell’autore.
