The thesis will begin with an introductory section focusing on Antarctica and its main characteristics, including biodiversity, climate, geography, pollution, and related aspects. It will then proceed with a detailed description of the specific features of the three pollutants under investigation—Cd, PFOA, and BPA—also including an explanation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Subsequently, the roles and functions of the two enzymes analyzed, total glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and superoxide dismutase (SOD), will be described. In the second part of the thesis, all laboratory procedures and analytical methods carried out during the experimental work will be presented. These analyses will lead to the final conclusions, which will consist of a comparative assessment of the responses of the digestive gland and gills of the Antarctic mollusc Adamussium colbecki to the three different pollutants.

Abstract
These analyses will lead to the final conclusions, which will consist of a comparative assessment of the responses of the digestive gland and gills of the Antarctic mollusc Adamussium colbecki to the three different pollutants.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
