The signal structure and transmission principles of the Galileo Satellite Navigation System are reviewed in this thesis. After a brief introduction to Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and an overview of the Galileo system architecture, the main aspects of signal transmission, signal structure, and modulation techniques are discussed. A brief comparison with other GNSS is presented in order to highlight the modern design of Galileo signals, as well as the importance and applications of the Galileo system.
