This dissertation aims to analyze the football sector and its development over the past decades from an economic and financial perspective, while also considering, to a lesser extent, the sporting dimension. The first chapter addresses football regulation in Italy and Europe, focusing on its most recent features, including investments in infrastructure, broadcasting rights, and the various sources of revenue for football clubs. The second chapter provides an overview of the case of AC Milan, with particular attention to the administrative and managerial approaches adopted by the different ownerships that have led the club, from the Berlusconi era to the more recent involvement of international investment funds. The final chapter examines the relationship between football and public finance, both in terms of taxation and the employment of human resources. The dissertation also investigates the case of the construction of the new San Siro stadium and its economic and financial implications.
