On March 11th, 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Covid-19 outbreak as a global pandemic. Due to the severity of this issue, various nations imposed local and international restrictions to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus. These restrictions included stay at home orders, travel bans, restrictions on meeting people from other households and the closure of nonessential stores, as well as gyms, cinemas, museums, art galleries and even places of worship. All these restrictions and many more problems have impacted the mental state of the population. In particular, these restrictions caused many couples to be separated from their partner, not able to have any physical contact with them anymore. The aim of our research is to focus on the effects this forced distance from their partner, had on our participant's mental health. These effects may include, for example, depression, anxiety and stress. Furthermore, we hypothesized that this lack of physical contact with their partner could result in lower satisfaction in the relationship, which in turn could further emphasize the mental health effects caused by this global health emergency.

Abstract
Furthermore, we hypothesized that this lack of physical contact with their partner could result in lower satisfaction in the relationship, which in turn could further emphasize the mental health effects caused by this global health emergency.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
