The present thesis explores the concept of flow, a psycological state of complete immersion and concentration in an activity, theorized by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Starting from the analysis of his seminal work, the conditions that facilitate the experience of flow are examined, with a specific focus on the sports context. Through a review of scientific literature and recent studies, the role of flow in athletic performance is investigated, highlighting how this state can positively influence athletes’ performance, motivation, and psychological well-being during sports practice.
