In this thesis, the stretching bands of the C2O and C4O groups of deuterated 1-methylthymine (1MT-D) were calculated using a hybrid QM/MM method. The biomolecule was treated at a quantum level, the surrounding environment as an electrostatic perturbation, and the frequencies were calculated using the PMM method. The QM calculations were performed with two different basis sets and functionals, and the results thus obtained were compared.
In questa tesi sono state calcolate, tramite un metodo ibrido QM/MM, le bande di stretching dei gruppi C2O e C4O della 1-metiltimina deuterata (1MT-D). La biomolecola è stata trattata a livello quantistico, l’ambiente circostante come perturbazione elettrostatica e le frequenze sono state calcolate con metodo PMM. I calcoli QM sono stati eseguiti con due set di base e funzionali diversi e sono stati confrontati i risultati ottenuti.
