Diaphragmatic breathing is a type of breathing technique that primarily involves the diaphragm muscle and promotes deep and controlled breathing, as opposed to thoracic breathing, which is generally more superficial. The benefits of more regulated and mindful breathing are numerous and find application in various fields, including sports and postural contexts. This paper aims to analyze, starting from an in-depth anatomical examination of the diaphragm muscle, its respiratory functions and how these affect posture. In fact, the diaphragm works in synergy with the core muscles to stabilize the thoracolumbar fascia which, being located at the level of the body’s center of gravity, contributes to the maintenance and strengthening of effective posture in the prevention of injuries, such as low back pain. A practical perspective will also be examined, involving the Mézières method, which focuses on the release of breathing and the consequent postural adaptations.

Abstract
A practical perspective will also be examined, involving the Mézières method, which focuses on the release of breathing and the consequent postural adaptations.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
