In recent years, tourism has taken on an increasingly important role within the global economy, becoming a key driver of growth, innovation, and employment. Among the destinations that best represent this evolution, Dubai stands out as one of the most interesting and significant cases, thanks to a rapid development path strongly oriented toward innovation, luxury, and the quality of its tourism offer. This thesis stems from an interest in the economic and managerial dynamics that have led Dubai to transform, within just a few decades, from a predominantly desert area into one of the world’s leading international tourist hubs. The aim of the study is to analyze the strategic role of tourism in the development of the United Arab Emirates, focusing on the policies adopted, infrastructure investments, and territorial promotion strategies that have contributed to the destination’s success. After an initial chapter devoted to the theoretical framework of tourism and its evolution over time, with reference also to the effects of recent global events, the work explores the concepts of tourist destinations, destination management, and territorial marketing, paying particular attention to the emerging characteristics of the digital tourist. The case study of Dubai makes it possible to examine the main tourism policies, the role of local and national institutions, and the importance of technological innovation and major urban development projects. In the final section, the thesis addresses current topics such as the use of digital technologies, blockchain, and cryptocurrencies in the tourism sector, and concludes with some personal reflections on the future prospects of the city, highlighting the need for a more sustainable and inclusive tourism model.

Abstract
In the final section, the thesis addresses current topics such as the use of digital technologies, blockchain, and cryptocurrencies in the tourism sector, and concludes with some personal reflections on the future prospects of the city, highlighting the need for a more sustainable and inclusive tourism model.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
