Mental distress affecting young adults represents a significant and impactful challenge for our society and for individual mental well-being. Young adults represent a segment of society experiencing a particularly critical phase in their lives, associated with identity, relational, and social changes. This critical phase, in which they construct and discover their identity and individuality, can reveal forms of psychological vulnerability in young people. Indeed, in recent years, psychiatric and psychological prevention has become more specifically focused on this age group, increasingly focusing on early prevention. This thesis analyzes the concept of mental distress in young adults, examining the main risk and protective factors, identifying preclinical signs, the role of at-risk mental states (ARMS), and the critical issues associated with the risk of medicalization and labeling. All of this is set within a constantly evolving social and environmental context driven by technological progress and the impact of digital technology on everyday life, as well as the potential resource it can provide in the intervention and support of mental well-being. Within this framework, the role of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Technician is explored and explained as a key figure in the preventive context, thanks to their expertise and ability to detect early signs of distress. The possibility of integrating preventive and rehabilitative interventions and techniques with new eHealth technologies is also evaluated. The focus of this thesis is to emphasize how a preventative, integrated, and non-medicalizing approach can contribute to more timely and personalized care. A future perspective is proposed in which timely interventions and integration with new eHealth technologies could represent an advancement in clinical rehabilitation practice and improve people's quality of life.

Abstract
A future perspective is proposed in which timely interventions and integration with new eHealth technologies could represent an advancement in clinical rehabilitation practice and improve people's quality of life.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
