This final thesis examines the role of digitalization in workforce management within retail stores, with particular attention to operational Human Resource (HR) processes. In the context of Large-Scale Retail Distribution, activities such as shift scheduling, attendance management, and staff coordination represent key elements of daily work organization and directly influence operational efficiency. In recent years, these activities have increasingly been supported by digital tools aimed at structuring decision-making processes and improving performance monitoring. The study explores the main ways in which these tools are used and their organizational implications in terms of efficiency, coordination, and process standardization. The analysis combines a theoretical framework on operational HR processes with an empirical investigation developed during the internship experience, based on a questionnaire administered to a sample of retail companies operating in Italy. The objective is to provide an applied understanding of how digitalization contributes to workforce management within retail stores.
