Nietzsche's perspective on Darwin and Darwinism has been the subject of increasing attention in recent years, demonstrating that scholars have realised that the connection between Nietzsche and Darwin has not been adequately assessed and that their relationship may be more significant than previously thought. The renewed interest in Nietzsche's alleged naturalism has also focused attention on the scientific paradigm that best reflects the triumph of the naturalist perspective in the modern era, namely Darwinism. This thesis aims to clarify how Nietzsche conceives the main philosophical consequences of Darwin's doctrine of evolution by natural selection. These are essentially four: (1) that species are not eternal, but rather evolutions or developments; (2) that man, in all his dimensions, exists in continuity with the rest of Nature; (3) that there are no final causes, but only efficient causes; (4) that the teleological proof of God's existence is unfounded. Nietzsche accepts these four consequences and, therefore, his criticisms of Darwin and Darwinism actually represent a philosophical radicalisation of the points on which Nietzsche agrees with Darwin and Darwinism. The text focuses, in particular, on the fact that Nietzsche's method of genealogy is only understandable in a framework in which those fundamental consequences of Darwin's doctrine are accepted.

Abstract
The text focuses, in particular, on the fact that Nietzsche's method of genealogy is only understandable in a framework in which those fundamental consequences of Darwin's doctrine are accepted.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
