Fuoco cammina con noi: come Twin Peaks ha cambiato per sempre la televisione

In my thesis, I decided to focus on the TV series Twin Peaks, with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview, starting with its origins, covering its broadcast, the success it achieved, an analysis of the themes it explores, and its influence on other TV series.. My initial hypothesis is that Twin Peaks represents a unique case in the history of seriality, and therefore I aim to present the characteristics that make it unique and distinctive.To this end, I have divided the thesis into three research questions: how this series has revolutionized the crime genre, how it has revolutionized the crime genre, how it revolutionized the concept of the supernatural, and finally, an analysis of the third season, which, for reasons of time and style, should be considered separately from the others, also addressing the impact it had upon its release.

Nella mia tesi ho deciso di concentrarmi sulla serie tv Twin Peaks, con l’ obbiettivo di dare una panoramica completa partendo dalla sua genesi, passando per la trasmissione, il successo ottenuto, l’ analisi dei temi al suo interno e la sua influenza su altre serie tv. La mia ipotesi di partenza è che Twin Peaks rappresenti un caso unico nella storia della serialità, e dunque intendo mostrare le caratteristiche che la rendono unica e peculiare. Per questo ho suddiviso la tesi in tre domande di ricerca: come questa serie ha rivoluzionato il genere crime, come ha rivoluzionato il concetto di soprannaturale, e infine un’analisi della terza stagione, che per motivi temporali e di stile va considerata separatamente dalle altre, parlando anche in questo caso dell’ impatto che ha avuto alla sua uscita.
