This thesis examines the thoughts of Wilhelm Emmanuel von Ketteler and Pope Leo XIII on the topic of Christianity and its interaction with the social question, comparing their views on social inequalities and the role of the Church in industrial modernity. Von Ketteler, a German bishop, focuses on the relationship between social justice and Christianity, criticizing the injustices of capitalism and proposing a solidaristic vision. Leo XIII, through the encyclical Rerum Novarum, offers a synthesis between the defense of private property, workers' rights, and the role of the Church in promoting the common good. The comparative analysis highlights the similarities and differences in their approaches to the social question, emphasizing how both stress the dignity of labor and the Christian commitment to the most vulnerable, though with differing nuances. The goal is to trace a path of reflection on Christian social thought, highlighting its evolution and the legacy their works have left in the contemporary debate on social justice.

Abstract
The goal is to trace a path of reflection on Christian social thought, highlighting its evolution and the legacy their works have left in the contemporary debate on social justice.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
