ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to provide a clear and systematic overview of the influence that social constructionism has exerted over the years, not only within academia but also across a range of professional, social, and intervention contexts. In particular, the contribution explores practices that have developed from a social constructionist perspective in the fields of organizational development, community practices, therapeutic professions, research, education, and healthcare. The article opens with a presentation of the theoretical framework, identified in social constructionism, which serves as the guiding thread of the entire work. This is followed by six chapters devoted to the analysis of the implications of this perspective in different professional and social intervention contexts. The section on research practices examines the epistemological, methodological, and ethical implications of social constructionism, highlighting innovative approaches based on collaboration, multivocality, and attentiveness to context. The section dedicated to therapeutic professions analyzes practices that reframe traditional concepts such as diagnosis and treatment, including contributions related to collaborative, narrative, and community therapy, as well as social and group work. The sections on organizational development, education, and healthcare illustrate how social constructionism is applied in contexts characterized by high complexity and rapid change. In organizational settings, the focus is placed on relational and dialogical practices aimed at promoting flexibility, innovation, and participation. In educational contexts, constructionist practices foster the creation of collaborative learning communities oriented toward students’ developmental possibilities. In healthcare, the constructionist perspective contributes to rebalancing care by valuing the relational dimension and promoting patient-centered models of care. Finally, the section devoted to community practices addresses issues of conflict and social polarization, proposing dialogue as a central tool for building mutual understanding and new forms of coexistence. Through practices such as narrative mediation, inclusion, and community action, social constructionism is presented as a perspective capable of reducing conflict and promoting more just, equitable, and sustainable societies (The SAGE Handbook of Social Constructionist Practice, Sheila McNamee, Mary Gergen, Celiane Camargo-Borges, Emerson F. ABSTRACT L’obiettivo del presente articolo è offrire una panoramica chiara e sistematica dell’influenza che il costruttivismo sociale ha esercitato nel corso degli anni, non solo in ambito accademico, ma anche in diversi contesti di intervento professionale e sociale. In particolare, il contributo intende esplorare le pratiche sviluppatesi a partire dalla prospettiva del costruttivismo sociale nei settori dello sviluppo organizzativo, delle pratiche di comunità, delle professioni terapeutiche, della ricerca, dell’educazione e della sanità. Il lavoro si apre con una presentazione del quadro teorico di riferimento, individuato nel costruttivismo sociale, che costituisce la linea guida dell’intero elaborato. Seguiranno sei capitoli dedicati all’analisi delle implicazioni di tale prospettiva nei diversi contesti di intervento professionale e sociale. In particolare, la sezione sulle pratiche di ricerca approfondisce le implicazioni epistemologiche, metodologiche ed etiche del costruttivismo sociale, evidenziando approcci innovativi basati sulla collaborazione, sulla multivocalità e sull’attenzione al contesto. La sezione dedicata alle professioni terapeutiche, invece, esamina pratiche che riformulano concetti tradizionali quali diagnosi e trattamento, includendo contributi relativi alla terapia collaborativa, narrativa e comunitaria, nonché al lavoro sociale e di gruppo. Le sezioni dedicate allo sviluppo organizzativo, all’educazione e alla sanità illustrano come il costruttivismo sociale trovi applicazione in contesti caratterizzati da elevata complessità e rapidi cambiamenti. In ambito organizzativo, l’accento è posto su pratiche relazionali e dialogiche volte a promuovere flessibilità, innovazione e partecipazione. Nel contesto educativo, le pratiche costruzioniste favoriscono la creazione di comunità di apprendimento collaborative, orientate alle possibilità di sviluppo degli studenti. In ambito sanitario, la prospettiva costruzionista contribuisce a riequilibrare l’assistenza, valorizzando la dimensione relazionale e promuovendo modelli di cura centrati sul paziente. La sezione dedicata alle pratiche di comunità affronta il tema del conflitto e della polarizzazione sociale, proponendo il dialogo come strumento centrale per la costruzione di comprensione reciproca e nuove forme di convivenza. Attraverso pratiche quali la mediazione narrativa, l’inclusione e l’azione comunitaria, il costruttivismo sociale viene presentato come una prospettiva capace di favorire la riduzione dei conflitti e la promozione di società più giuste, eque e sostenibili.
