The thesis analyzes unemployment from a psychological, social, and anthropological perspective, focusing on its impact on personal identity and social relationships. Work is considered a central element of social recognition and identity construction, while unemployment is interpreted as a complex experience involving emotional, relational, and institutional aspects. The research also explores the coping strategies adopted by individuals and the role of social networks and institutions, with particular attention to the People's Houses described by Antonio Fanelli, seen as spaces of belonging, sociability, and support. Integrating social psychology of work and anthropology, the thesis highlights how unemployment is an experience influenced by changes in the labor market, transformations in social protection, and the relational contexts in which people live.
