The work analyzes the phenomenon of washing within the context of digital communication and the regulation of information disseminated by companies in environmental and social matters. The analysis examines in depth certain manifestations of the phenomenon, including greenwashing, social washing, pink and rainbow washing, and addresses their classification within the europea and national regulatory system, with particular reference to the discipline of unfair commercial practices, reporting and ESG criteria. The final section proposes a comparison between two globally relevant cases, H&M and Patagonia, examining their respective environmental policies and the strategies adopted in matters of sustainability.
Il lavoro analizza il fenomeno del washing nel contesto della comunicazione digitale e della regolazione delle informazioni diffuse dalle imprese in materia ambientale e sociale. L'analisi approfondisce alcune declinazioni del fenomeno, tra cui greenwashing, social washing, pink e rainbow washing e ne esamina l'inquadramento nel sistema normativo europeo e nazionale, con particolare riferimento alla disciplina delle pratiche commerciali scorrette, alla rendicontazione e ai criteri ESG. La sezione finale propone un confronto tra due casi di rilevanza globale, H&M e Patagonia, esaminando le rispettive politiche ambientali e le strategie adottate in materia di sostenibilità.
