This paper aims to evaluate the role of nutrition in the post-exercise recovery of elite female road cyclists by examining the effectiveness of the main nutritional strategies and supplements. Through a critical review of the literature, the main nutritional aspects of recovery are considered, with reference to macronutrients, micronutrients, and specific supplements. The analysis shows that proper macronutrient management is the main factor in recovery and performance, while the role of micronutrients and supplements is primarily complementary and limited to specific situations. In summary, nutritional strategies can optimize recovery in elite female athletes, but the benefit depends primarily on a proper nutritional base, with additional effects being more limited for targeted interventions.
