Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a tomographic imaging modality that operates in the radiofrequency range and, therefore, does not involve the use of ionizing radiation. It produces images of the internal anatomical and functional features of an object through externally measured signals generated by the phenomenon of nuclear magnetic resonance. Particularly in the field of medical diagnostics, this technique provides images characterized by extremely rich informational content, in which the value of each pixel depends on a wide range of selectable parameters. This makes it possible to obtain images of the same anatomical region that emphasize different soft-tissue properties while maintaining high contrast resolution across various anatomical structures. In particular, this thesis aims to outline, from a signal processing perspective, the physical principles underlying the MR signal and the image reconstruction process. Finally, several applications of the technique are presented, together with a discussion of its advantages, limitations, and possible future developments.

Abstract
Finally, several applications of the technique are presented, together with a discussion of its advantages, limitations, and possible future developments.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
