The thesis focuses on a project completed during the internship, which involves learning and implementing a TLS handshake, and subsequently mTLS, between a board configured as a client, based on an STM32 microcontroller, and a Linux PC acting as a server. The implementation is proposed according to various logics: completely software-based, using hardware acceleration, using or not using session resumption; with subsequent benchmarking of the various implementations.
La Tesi verte su un progetto conseguito durante il periodo di tirocinio che prevede l'apprendimento e l'implementazione di un TLS handshake, e mTLS in seguito, tra una board configurata come client, basata su un microcontrollore STM32, e un PC linux che funge da server. L' implementazione è proposta secondo varie logiche: completamente software, utilizzo di accellerazione hardware, uso o meno di session resumption; con conseguente benchmark tra le varie implementazioni
