This paper analyzes the state of stress and the optimization of the rear suspension pull-rod (Uni-Track system) of a Kawasaki KX450, simulating an extreme loading condition. The study compares two structural modeling approaches: a simplified isostatic model and a more realistic hyperstatic model. In the latter, a rotational spring was introduced at the swingarm pivot to simulate parasitic friction and the reaction from chain pull. The results demonstrate that the hyperstatic analysis allows for a 33% reduction in the axial load calculated on the component compared to the isostatic case. Structural verification of yield strength and buckling stability confirmed the pull-rod's high reliability. This approach proves essential for optimizing the strength-to-weight ratio of the linkages, ensuring vehicle control and rider safety even under the most extreme loading conditions.

Abstract
This approach proves essential for optimizing the strength-to-weight ratio of the linkages, ensuring vehicle control and rider safety even under the most extreme loading conditions.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
