This thesis illustrates the design and development of a gear reducer in all its phases according to the relevant standards. Starting from the reducer's performance objectives, the design and development are structured into the following phases: determination of the power transmitted to the shafts, sizing of the gear wheels, sizing of the shafts, selection of bearings, sizing of the keys, static shaft verifications, shaft fatigue verifications, shaft deformation analysis with a comparison between analytical calculations and finite element simulation using SolidWorks software. For each phase, the design choices, calculations performed, and results obtained are reported. All verifications and analyses performed on the reducer were successful, validating its design, development, and operation.
