This study concerns the investigation of the massive sulphide deposit at Colle della Borra, in Piedmont. The samples were first examined under a reflected-light microscope to identify those suitable for analysis. The main analyses were carried out using SEM-EDS, with chemical maps also being acquired. Particular attention was paid to the pyrite, which was studied from a morphological and compositional perspective, with a focus on its cobalt and arsenic content. The inclusions within the pyrite, predominantly chlorite, were also characterised and compared with those of the matrix. The aim was to characterise the different generations of pyrite present in the deposit, in order to obtain information on the timing of cobalt introduction into the system.
Il lavoro riguarda lo studio del giacimento a solfuri massivi di Colle della Borra, in Piemonte. I campioni sono stati prima osservati al microscopio a riflessione, per trovare i campioni e le aree adatte alle analisi. Le analisi principali sono state eseguite tramite SEM-EDS, con acquisizione anche di mappe chimiche. L'attenzione si è rivolta soprattutto alle piriti, studiate dal punto di vista morfologico e compositivo, con focus sul contenuto in cobalto e arsenico. Sono state inoltre caratterizzate le inclusioni nelle piriti, prevalentemente cloriti, mettendole a confronto con quelle della matrice. L'obiettivo era caratterizzare le diverse generazioni di pirite presenti nel giacimento, in modo da ottenere informazioni sulla tempistica di introduzione del cobalto nel sistema.
