This thesis analyzes the application of artificial intelligence in the construction industry, with a particular focus on safety on construction sites and the perceptions of those potentially involved in its use. The primary objective of the work is to develop a structured questionnaire to be used, at a later stage, for a broader data collection aimed at assessing the level of knowledge, trust, and acceptance of AI-based technologies applied to construction site safety management. After an overview of the concept of health and safety at work and the current regulatory framework, with particular reference to Legislative Decree 81/2008, the thesis delves into the digital transformation process of the construction sector and the main technologies enabled by AI. The potential applications of these tools in accident prevention, risk monitoring, control of the use of personal protective equipment, access management, decision support, and worker training are analyzed. The thesis also considers the main critical issues related to the introduction of artificial intelligence on construction sites, with particular reference to privacy, personal data protection, system reliability, the attribution of responsibility, and ethical and legal implications. The core of the work is the design of the questionnaire, divided into sections dedicated to the personal and professional characteristics of the respondents, their familiarity with digital technologies, their perception of potential benefits, their level of trust, the critical issues, and the conditions necessary for the effective introduction of artificial intelligence on construction sites. As part of the thesis, the questionnaire was administered experimentally to a pilot sample of 25 university students. Although this is a limited sample and not representative of the entire target population, the data collected allows us to formulate some preliminary considerations regarding the comprehensibility of the tool, its structure, and the participants' initial orientations. Overall, the thesis aims to develop and test a research tool that can be used for subsequent data collection campaigns on larger and more diverse samples, contributing to the study of the perception and acceptance of artificial intelligence applied to safety on construction sites.
