With the evolution of mass media, the world has witnessed the simultaneous growth of advertising, which, in addition to radically changing the way we think about the economy today, has transformed society, the individuals within it, and their perception of themselves and others. In a world where everything is digitized, everything becomes a product to be sold, what happens to identity? What role does the individual and their decisions play? How does advertising operate within postmodern societies? Can we still talk about product promotion, or should we speak of manipulation? To answer these questions, we will compare the thoughts of two great theorists of mass media and consumption: Jean Baudrillard and Vanni Codeluppi.

Abstract
With the evolution of mass media, the world has witnessed the simultaneous growth of advertising, which, in addition to radically changing the way we think about the economy today, has transformed society, the individuals within it, and their perception of themselves and others. In a world where everything is digitized, everything becomes a product to be sold, what happens to identity? What role does the individual and their decisions play? How does advertising operate within postmodern societies? Can we still talk about product promotion, or should we speak of manipulation? To answer these questions, we will compare the thoughts of two great theorists of mass media and consumption: Jean Baudrillard and Vanni Codeluppi.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
