Logos, Polemos e critica della Polymathie nella sapienza di Eraclito di Efeso

This thesis focuses on the philosophy of Heraclitus and its presentation through the key points of his thought, putting specific emphasis on the themes of Logos, Polemos, the unity of opposites, and the problem of knowledge. The research begins with a direct analysis of the fragments n. 1, 50, 53, 51, 12, 40, 101, followed by the consideration of their major translations and interpretations (Marcovich, Kirk, Diano-Serra), including the most recent editions (Fronterotta, Gemelli-Marciano). The espoused position agrees with the views of Fronterotta and Diano-Serra, maintaining elements of originality: thanks to the philological analysis, the goal is to underline the immanence of Heraclitean thought, criticizing “metaphysical” readings, and its gnoseological and existential consequences. Therefore, the thesis is structured around three themes: Logos, Polemos, and the critique of Polymathie, in order to provide a reconstruction as faithful as possible of the thought of the Ephesian philosopher and to demonstrate its relevance in both hermeneutical and theoretical debates.

La presente tesi ha come oggetto la filosofia di Eraclito e la sua esposizione attraverso i punti chiave del suo pensiero, con particolare attenzione ai temi del Logos, di Polemos, dell’unità dei contrari e del problema del sapere. La ricerca muove dall’analisi diretta dei frammenti n. 1, 50, 53, 51, 12, 40, 101, per poi considerare le maggiori traduzioni ed interpretazioni degli stessi (Marcovich, Kirk, Diano-Serra), comprese le più recenti edizioni (Fronterotta, Gemelli-Marciano). Si è optato per una tesi vicina a quella proposta da Fronterotta e Diano-Serra, mantenendo comunque elementi di originalità: grazie all’analisi filologica, l’obiettivo è evidenziare l’immanenza del pensiero eracliteo, criticando le letture “metafisiche”, e le conseguenze gnoseologiche ed esistenziali di esso. Pertanto, si è scelto di sviluppare la tesi attorno a tre temi, ossia Logos, Polemos e la critica alla Polymathie, al fine di compiere una più fedele possibile ricostruzione del pensiero del filosofo di Efeso e mostrarne l’attualità sia nel dibattito ermeneutico che in quello strettamente teoretico.
