Il sé come narrazione. Sul ruolo della letteratura nella costruzione dell'identità

This thesis explores the relationship between identity and literature: in particular, it examines the possibility of reinterpreting one’s own identity through the engagement with fictional narratives. To this end, the first two chapters address the concept of narrative identity and the related debate, giving particular attention to Ricoeur’s reflections on this topic. The third and final chapter explores the dynamics of interaction between reader and literary text, highlighting how literature can shape personal identity.

Nella presente tesi viene indagato il rapporto tra identità e letteratura: in particolare, viene interrogata la possibilità di reinterpretare la propria identità attraverso la fruizione di racconti di finzione. Per tale scopo nei primi due capitoli vengono trattati il concetto di identità narrativa e il relativo dibattito, e viene riservato particolare spazio alle riflessioni di Ricoeur su questo tema. Nel terzo ed ultimo capitolo, invece, viene approfondita la dinamica d'interazione tra lettore e testo letterario, fino a mettere in luce il modo in cui la letteratura può determinare l'identità personale.
