This thesis explores the role of daughters within family-run businesses, particularly in contexts where the patriarchal model has historically shaped both family and organizational structures. Starting from the research question — "Is it possible that in family work environments (in this case of a patriarchal nature), where male presence appears to be predominant, daughters continue the work of previous generations?" — the study investigates how women assume leadership or succession roles in traditionally male-dominated enterprises. Through a qualitative and interdisciplinary approach, the research examines how the female figure is perceived when taking on the role of "patriarch substitute" and analyses the dynamics that emerge when family and work relationships are deeply intertwined. The thesis also considers how interactions between private and professional spheres are recognised and managed, highlighting the contradictions, strategies, and negotiations that arise within family businesses. This work contributes to a broader reflection on the transformation of patriarchal structures in economic and family settings, emphasising the active and transformative role of daughters within these systems.

Abstract
This work contributes to a broader reflection on the transformation of patriarchal structures in economic and family settings, emphasising the active and transformative role of daughters within these systems.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
