This thesis examines intercultural pedagogy within the Italian school system, with particular attention to the processes of inclusion of students with migrant backgrounds and the involvement of their families. The aim is to provide a critical review of both national and international literature in order to understand how schools address the challenges of cultural, linguistic, and social integration, and what role is attributed to the participation of migrant families. The intercultural perspective requires an educational approach capable of overcoming stereotypes and reductive views, opening itself to an authentic encounter with the Other. This entails adopting a decentered perspective, able to recognize and value the history and identity of each child and their family. Within this framework, integration is not merely reduced to a process of adaptation, but becomes a shared responsibility grounded in care among schools, students, and the host community. The research consists of a scoping review that examines theoretical contributions, studies, and pedagogical approaches developed by various scholars, including Agostinetto, Cambi, Dusi, Fiorucci, Milani, Santerini, and Ulivieri. Particular attention is given to the school–family relationship, understood as a space for cultural mediation, educational collaboration, and the co-construction of inclusive practices. The thesis thus aims to offer an updated and comprehensive overview of studies on this topic, highlighting perspectives, critical issues, and future directions that are useful for pedagogical reflection and for strengthening intercultural dialogue in primary education.

Abstract
The thesis thus aims to offer an updated and comprehensive overview of studies on this topic, highlighting perspectives, critical issues, and future directions that are useful for pedagogical reflection and for strengthening intercultural dialogue in primary education.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
