This thesis examines the relationship between sleep disorders and anxiety in adolescents. Anxiety disorders represent one of the most widespread forms of psychopathology worldwide and adolescence represents a period of particular vulnerability for their onset. Sleep, as a modifiable risk factor, represents a relevant starting point for the development of early interventions. The analysis starts from the dataset collected by Zhang et al. (2026) and applies meta-analysis and meta-regression models to estimate and explain the association between anxiety and sleep factors, mean age, gender, continent of origin, and study design. The results show that sleep quality and insomnia are the most strongly associated predictors of anxiety disorders, while sleep duration presents a weaker negative association and sleep efficiency does not reach statistical significance. A sensitivity analysis and a publication bias assessment are also conducted.
