Boundary layer control represents a primary engineering challenge for the enhancement of aerodynamic profiles' performance. This thesis provides a qualitative analysis of the most relevant boundary layer control techniques, with an extensive focus on active control systems. The working principles of these systems, their main constructive characteristics, and some experimental results from literature will be described, evaluating their effectiveness in improving the overall aerodynamic efficiency of the surfaces upon which they have been implemented.
Il controllo dello strato limite costituisce una sfida ingegneristica di primaria importanza per il miglioramento delle prestazioni dei profili aerodinamici. La presente tesi offre un' analisi qualitativa dei principali metodi di controllo dello strato limite, con un esteso approfondimento sui sistemi di controllo attivo. Verranno descritti i principi di funzionamento di tali sistemi, le loro principali caratteristiche costruttive e alcuni risultati sperimentali riportati in letteratura, valutandone l' efficacia nel miglioramento dell' aerodinamica complessiva delle superfici su cui sono stati implementati.
