This thesis draws inspiration from a curricular internship conducted at a small Italian company. The core of the dissertation consists of the study of product line marginality. It begins with a brief description of management control and its role within the broader framework of business management, followed by an explanation of the methodology used for the analysis: after having appropriately classified the different cost categories, the process for calculating the first and second contribution margins is illustrated. The thesis concludes by highlighting the risks associated with the arbitrary allocation of fixed costs and by exploring the analytical potential of product line marginality, a management tool aimed at precisely identifying the product lines through which operating income is generated or, conversely, destroyed. Finally, the thesis explores why the analysis is underutilized by SMEs.

Abstract
Finally, the thesis explores why the analysis is underutilized by SMEs.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
