This thesis analyzes the strategic role of merchandising in the retail fashion industry through the internship experience carried out at AW LAB, part of Compar S.p.A.. The study focuses on product flow management, store performance analysis, and support for commercial decision-making, highlighting the relationship between assortment, customer demand, and sales performance. Particular attention is given to the use of data-driven tools and the coordination processes between merchandising, planning, and store operations. The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate how merchandising represents a strategic function for improving operational efficiency, competitiveness, and decision-making capabilities in the contemporary retail environment.
La tesi analizza il ruolo del merchandising strategico nel settore retail fashion attraverso l’esperienza di tirocinio svolta presso AW LAB, parte del gruppo Compar S.p.A.. L’elaborato approfondisce le attività di gestione del flusso dei prodotti, analisi delle performance dei punti vendita e supporto alle decisioni commerciali, evidenziando il collegamento tra assortimento, domanda e risultati di vendita. Particolare attenzione viene dedicata all’utilizzo di strumenti data-driven e ai processi di coordinamento tra merchandising, planning e store operations. L’obiettivo della tesi è mostrare come il merchandising rappresenti una funzione strategica per migliorare efficienza operativa, competitività e capacità decisionale nel contesto retail contemporaneo.
