This thesis analyses the evolution of the radio industry in the context of digital transformation, focusing on its effects on business models and competitive dynamics. The work is divided into two parts. The first describes the internship experience at Spotinvest S.r.l., a company operating in the radio broadcasting sector, examining its organisational structure, competitive environment, and the main administrative and accounting activities carried out during the internship. The second part explores the transition from the traditional radio model to a multiplatform audio ecosystem, with particular attention to streaming, podcasts and DAB+ technology. Through a review of the literature and of the main developments in the sector, the analysis shows that digitalisation has not led to the decline of radio, but rather to a redefinition of its distribution, consumption and value-creation processes. Competitive advantage no longer depends only on the control of frequencies or audience size, but increasingly on the ability to integrate different distribution channels, capture users’ attention and develop flexible business models. The case of Spotinvest S.r.l. confirms that the integration of traditional broadcasting, DAB+ and digital platforms represents a strategic factor for maintaining competitiveness in an audio market characterised by increasing fragmentation and technological innovation.
