Sottorete is a digital editorial project aimed at exploring Italian volleyball culture on Instagram through in-depth narrative storytelling. The work is structured into two parts: a theoretical and analytical section, and a project-based section that translates its findings into a practical development. The first section examines key aspects of multimedia communication in digital publishing, focusing on visual elements such as layout, typography and colour, as well as on how production models have shifted with the spread of social media. Within this framework, the project analyses examples of sports storytelling, both Italian and international, including The Players’ Tribune, The Athletic, Bleacher Report, Undici and L’Ultimo Uomo, with the aim of identifying insights applicable to editorial contexts with limited resources. This is complemented by an analysis of Italian Instagram profiles dedicated to volleyball, mapping both existing content types and less explored narrative areas. The second part develops these elements into a concrete editorial project, defining Sottorete’s positioning as an Instagram profile aimed at fans and practitioners interested in more in-depth content than that found in mainstream sports communication. The editorial system is then developed, starting from the visual identity and the structure of its sections, alongside a series of prototype content. The final section addresses the project’s potential reach, outlining several growth scenarios and a multi-level evaluation model. The project operates within the tension between sustaining an in-depth narrative approach and the logic of social media platforms, which tend to reward fast, high-circulation content. The editorial choices aim to inhabit this space without leaning too strongly in either direction.

Abstract
The editorial choices aim to inhabit this space without leaning too strongly in either direction.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
